Executive Director
Ben Klai
McTender was founded in 2019 by Ben Klai. Ben holds a Master’s degree in International Business Administration and is specialized in sustainable management and business development of SMEs and start-ups, channel sales and international commerce, product placement, market analysis, E-Commerce, as well as operational procurement for international donor organisations such as ADB, EuropeAid, JICA, KfW, and World Bank. He has 15+ years of experience in - online marketing and payment solutions for private enterprises, - developing business opportunities in development countries, market analysis and product placing for SMEs and start-ups in the commodity sector, - implementing revised syllabuses to match international standards in vocational training, assessment of needs and demands in conjunction with analyses for enhanced VET programs, - Procurement Specialist for goods, works and consulting services for international public donors and private companies, - familiar with World Bank, EuropeAid, JICA, as well as KfW Procurement Guidelines and Standard Bidding Documents and with ADB Consultant Management System (e-procurement), - tender agent for 30+ consulting tenders including pre-qualifications and tenders of social infrastructure, SME-, microfinance and VET-projects including ESIA/ESMS, building construction, financial intermediaries. Ben is fluent in German, English, and Japanese and speaks some French and Tunisian. His regional expertise covers Europe (esp. Belgium, France, Malta, UK, Western Balkans, Zyprus), Central, South, Southeast, and East Asia (esp. Bangladesh, Indonesia, Georgia, Japan, Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan), MENA (esp. Morocco, Tunisia, and UAE), and Subsaharan Africa (Mozambique, South Africa)

We are proud of being able to draw on a vast international network of 40+ international consultants - many of whom are - civil and structural engineers, architects, - biologists, environmental scientists, - geologists, hydrologists, - sociologists, anthropologists, - (TVET) teachers - doctors, health workers, who contribute their technical and regional expertise in the various fields and sectors of engagement. This enables us to professionally carry out complex tenders such as the procurement of consulting services and of multi-stage DBO contracts. Our clients value us for our range of expertise and for our independent and transparent third-party statement on the award of contracts.

Managing Director
Kathrin Prasse
In 2022 Kathrin Prasse joined McTender as managing director. Kathrin is a certified bank clerk, holds master’s degrees in political science, sociology, macroeconomics and Southeast Asian studies and a postgraduate degree in project evaluations. Before joining McTender she has been working at KfW Development Bank headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany for more than 7 years and with an engineering consulting company for more than 10 years. Given her diverse background, Kathrin is fluent in both "buyers/donors" and "bidders". Her range of activities covers: - Procurement-related consultancy services: ♦ Workshops and training on donor procurement guidelines and regulations esp. KfW, ♦ Tender agent services and training, ♦ Procurement audits on behalf of donors (e.g. disposition funds), ♦ Development and implemen- tation of procurement manuals and operational procurement for funds, multi-donor projects, NGOs, etc., ♦ Comparison of local procure- ment law with donor procure- ment regulations, identification, settlement of discrepancies. - Evaluation/Social Studies: ♦ Quantitative and qualitative data collection (ex ante/ex post), ♦ Data evaluation / statistics, ♦ Preparation of social impact assessments, social / anthropo- logical ex ante / ex post studies, ♦ Carrying out evaluations of donor-funded projects. - Contract Administrator, Claim Manager (e.g. FIDIC Pink, Red, Yellow and White Book) on ADB, World Bank, KfW, and EuropeAid projects for private companies. - Sector focus: ♦ Rural development / economic development / financial sector: e.g. SME promotion, microfinance, TVET, ♦ Good governance: institution building, decentralisation, ♦ Social infrastructure: water / sanitation, rural roads, environ- mental and social impact assessment, energy efficiency, building construction.
